When the “new normal” includes the closing of county and state parks, gyms, and face coverings, how do you keep a good mental outlook? And if you are a woman of a certain age, how do you keep the pounds off so that when you do go back into the office, you won’t hear co-workers whisper “looks like she was eating her way through her depression”. The best therapy for me is to take a walk in the neighborhood. At 6am, I am up and out, taking in the morning air, the quiet streets, and uneven payments, while watching my hard working neighbors board the city buses even during such trying times. And I may not walk as far as I want due to work commitments, but I do find that walking works with taking me away from my work confinement for about 1 hour each day.
